Using the service
When you select a calculation, identification, or sharing action accompanied by a notice linking these terms, you agree to these terms for that use. If you do not agree, do not use that action. You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding agreement, or use the service under the supervision and responsibility of an adult who agrees to these terms.
What an estimate means
Informational estimate only—not a guaranteed price, offer to buy, inspection, or formal appraisal for insurance, tax, or legal purposes. Confirm the model, condition, and current market before buying or selling.
We do not inspect, authenticate, buy, sell, or broker your equipment through this calculator. Values depend on available evidence and information you supply. Asking prices are not completed sales; reported sold data may also be incomplete. Condition adjustments and trade-in percentages are models, not confirmed facts about your equipment or a dealer’s offer. Read how estimates work.
You are responsible for independently checking material details before a transaction. Consult an appropriately qualified professional for insurance, tax, estate, legal, or other formal appraisal needs.
Your submissions and shared cards
Accounts are optional. Use an email address you control, keep your password private, and tell us if you suspect unauthorized access. Account-saved estimates are private snapshots and do not update automatically. You can remove them from My values. Creating an account signifies agreement to these terms.
Submit only content you own or have permission to use. You retain ownership of your photos and other submissions. You authorize us and our service providers to process them only as needed to operate the features you request and as explained in our Privacy notice. A photo is not a reliable inspection or proof of authenticity.
Create a share link only if you want the displayed estimate stored and accessible to anyone with the link. Shared values are snapshots, may reflect user-entered information, and are not independent verification or certificates of value. Links expire after 90 days. We cannot recall copies retained by others.
Acceptable use
Do not submit unlawful or infringing material, misrepresent estimates as verified appraisals or offers, interfere with the service, evade usage limits, or attempt unauthorized access. We may restrict abusive use or remove content when reasonably needed to protect the service, comply with law, or address rights complaints.
Third-party sources and independence
Manufacturer, retailer, and marketplace names identify equipment or sources. CameraValue is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Kelley Blue Book, eBay, the listed camera manufacturers, or retailers. External sites have their own terms. A source link does not guarantee availability, accuracy, safety, or a seller’s performance.
Third-party trademarks and content remain the property of their respective owners. These terms do not grant you rights to third-party content. Contact us about suspected rights violations with the relevant URL and supporting details.
Availability, warranties, and liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, CameraValue is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of accuracy, completeness, availability, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or noninfringement. Information and features may change or become unavailable.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Alex Dyer is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including lost profits or opportunities, arising from use of the service. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, willful misconduct, or any liability or consumer right that applicable law does not permit to be excluded or limited. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so those exclusions may not apply to you.
Law, updates, and contact
Ohio law governs these terms, except where mandatory applicable law requires otherwise. Nothing here removes nonwaivable consumer protections or rights to bring a claim in a legally available forum. No mandatory arbitration or class-action waiver is imposed by these terms.
Revised terms will show a new effective date. Material changes apply prospectively with any notice or agreement required by law. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to the extent permitted by law.
