How estimates work

Evidence comes first

Estimates may use reported completed sales, active marketplace asking prices, dealer research, or prices you enter. Each result identifies its basis where available. Asking prices describe what sellers request, not what buyers actually pay. Listing matches are filtered by rules and may be incomplete or incorrect.

Dates and freshness

Successful pricing checks may be reused for up to 60 days. Observation dates describe when evidence was collected. Saving or printing a value does not refresh that evidence. Listings can change or disappear during the reuse period.

Condition and trade-in assumptions

Cosmetic condition, working status, and other adjustments are modeled. We do not inspect your equipment or verify seller claims. Unavailable seller descriptions remain unverified. A trade-in estimate defaults to 45–65% of typical private-sale value, with a typical estimate at 50%; settings you change may alter those assumptions. These percentages are not measured offers from a retailer.

Limited evidence and kits

Small samples produce provisional estimates. Items without usable pricing or needing inspection may have no range. Partial totals exclude those items. Kit totals add individual item estimates and assume separate sales, not a guaranteed bundle price. Accessories or special collector variations may be outside the supported model.

Costs and currency

Estimated selling costs depend on your fee and shipping assumptions. Actual taxes, fees, shipping, repairs, and transaction costs may differ. CAD displays, when used, convert U.S. estimates with exchange-rate data; they are not a separate sample of Canadian transactions.

Use your judgment

Informational estimate only—not a guaranteed price, offer to buy, inspection, or formal appraisal for insurance, tax, or legal purposes. Confirm the model, condition, and current market before buying or selling.
